Hi,

I am a student in car technology and I am very interested in your velomobile 's design. I am currently working on a "human powered vehicle" with 5 colleagues of my class. Our goal is to make a velomobile that's fast and comfortable. We have chosen for a belt/chain driven bike with Rholoff transmission combined with a Shlumpf MountainDrive. Can I have a closer look at your CAD-model to get some inspiration for our bike? We need to sort out the steering and maybe your method gives us some ideas. I am looking forward to hear from you.

Thanks in advance,

Hi Josh,
Thanks for keeping an eye out! That is a NuVinci CVT but luckily I had a Sturmey Archer 7 speed IHG on it when it disappeared. The forks were on there though.

is that a nuvinci UVT hub?

It is a noticable bike for sure, and If I see it, or memorable parts of it (hub, fork) I will drop a line.

Hey thanks for the tip. I've seen a couple of tensioners that mount to the chainstay lately that look like they would work. By that time I'd already removed the NuVinci to use on the velomobile but they definitely would have been a good addition.

You can resolve the chain tension issues with a chain tensioner. Shimano makes a good one (hard to find in the US) as do others.

dude I'm building a bike that is similar. I can show you all the parts if you like; lighting, indicators, gearing shrumpf high speed drive, and 600w motor etc. I've been collecting them for a while. I'm upto assembly now using a wood template for a metal frame. When you get a chance email me and I'll fill you in on some of the problem areas I ran into, especially in the ackerman steering department.

Hey Suhas, we met last night at the Red Maple. The url is my website that runs through my old school's server. It doesn't work in IE though, you'll have to use Firefox to view it. Let me know if you ever need any designs for any of your projects.
