Paul MacCready's Gossamer Albatross traversed the English channel more than 25 years ago and demonstrated how modern materials, design and engineering could extend the capabilities of humans to move themselves. In this mechanized age where nearly everything mechanism is powered, some of the same technologies can also be used in the design of ultra efficient human powered vehicles that can go faster and farther than previously thought possible.

Human power also comes, free of charge, with great physical and mental health benefits. Turanga's current efforts center around the design of a velomobile, a fully-enclosed human powered vehicle that enables all-weather commuting. Click here for more details and follow our progress at our blog!
